Donne della Bibbia
L'atteggiamento di Raphael Reizel nel confronto dei
soggetti biblici scelti, è libero e attento al mondo dei simboli,
soprattutto quelli che sottolineano la funzione privilegiata, rispettata
e centrale della donna nell'Antico Testamento.
Donne nelle quali si evidenzia la reciprocità del rapporto uomo-donna
per la conquista della libertà.
Sono figure forti, come scolpite nella roccia, che decidono ed agiscono,
affrontano rischi per sé e per il futuro della propria gente.
Il loro ambito d'azione è molto meno ristretto di quanto possa
sembrare all'osservatore contemporaneo.
Antenate con le quali potersi identificare.
Presenze femminili che hanno saputo tramandare in maniera intensa messaggi
di giustizia, riconciliazione e liberazione.
Scrive Rossana Bossaglia: "Interpretazione pressochè epica
della femminilità, le sue bellissime sculture sono individui,
ciascuno con le proprie caratteristiche esistenziali e psicologiche....
modellate in terracotta.... e ancora lavorate e dipinte quasi fossero
legni intarsiati."

The
attitude of Raphael Reizel regarding the chosen Biblical
figures, is not that of underlining sacredness. The artist views with
attention and open mind a world of symbols, where the role of woman
appears with a force of personal independence. Personalities in whom
reciprocity of the relation man-woman in the fight for freedom is prominent.
Strong figures, like hewn out of rock, who decide and act facing risks
for themselves and for the future of their own people. Their sphere
of action has less limits than today’s observer might suppose.
Ancestresses with whom to identify oneself. They have handed down to
posterity a strong message of justice, reconciliation and liberation.

her very beautiful sculptures are individuals, each with her own existential
and psychological characteristics ….modelled in terracotta …
and yet worked on and painted as if they were carvings in wood. "
